Alan Naylor’s Cosme McMoon is one for the books.

Superbly animated, particularly when it comes to his active facial expressions, Naylor delivers a chaotic scramble of emotions all throughout the performance without ever treading into the dangerous territory of becoming an unreliable narrator — tempering the heightened theatricality that must accompany Cosme McMoon with a bold streak of sincerity, Naylor delivers a stunning performance in the role — Both Naylor’s physical and facial animations drive forth the humor in this production, allowing levity to land honestly without the sense of being manufactured. The magnificently crafted moment of rapturous tragic bliss that Naylor delivers at the conclusion of the performance neatly concludes the evocative light-hearted drama in a way that words fail accurately to describe.”

“It was exactly ten years ago I first saw Stephen Temperley's SOUVENIR at Baltimore Center Stage which starred Tony Award winner, Judy Kaye. I could not imagine seeing a better version of it ever. But, I was wrong. The Rep Stage version is just plain spectacular and the two actors who perform here, Grace Bauer and Alan Naylor are just plain marvelous”

“Alan Naylor as Mike was vocally strong in a challenging portrayal of someone strategizing how to balance his contradictions in order to survive”

"Naylor, who takes point on being the show’s front-man, is a vocal sensation that delivers excellence on multiple levels. With a keen vocal understanding of when to blend his voice into the ensemble and when to pulse forward to be heard among them, Naylor provides an invigorating surge of vocal clarity, which catches like wildfire across the cast, and leads the show to glorious victory. "Mr. Naylor is simply divine as Ms. St. Croix, and really gets to the humor of the piece and adds a nice touch of savoir faire. I especially enjoy how he does not let playing a female character turn into a caricature,”
